I have mixed experience working with adults and children, however I always find myself getting drawn back to working with children! I love working with children because they keep me on my toes, they always teach me something new, and make my working day much more fun and enjoyable.
I decided on speech pathology as a career path because I have always had a passion for helping people, for supporting people to work towards their goals, and I love to watch people grow and live their best life.
I have particular interest in fluency and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). I have experience with a number of different types of AAC from Key Word Sign to high-tech devices, such as eye-gaze devices. I also have experience in the (overwhelming and exciting) world of NDIS! I believe that everyone has the capacity (and the right) to learn and communicate.
My experience also extends to paediatric speech sound disorders, early language development and language delays/disorders, social communication and literacy.
I have recently moved to Melbourne from sunny Queensland and am loving the change of scenery and energy. I’ve also recently adopted a kitten and am absolutely in love!
