Hi there! I couldn’t be more thrilled to be working in a team where my passion for helping individuals with their communication and the joy of working with kids is combined.
I’ve always been a keen communicator and have loved the study and mechanics of language, hence why I started an undergraduate degree in Cape Town, South Africa, majoring in both English and linguistics. What drew me to speech pathology was the thought of combining my love for learning and studying language and the desire to play a meaningful role in someone’s life and make a difference. With Joy Therapy, I get to do both! Having seen my own brother go through successful therapy for his speech following a tongue tie- I knew this was what I wanted to dedicate my life to. I have completed a Bachelor of Speech Pathology with Honours, and have particular interests in using Alternative methods of communication (such as signing, picture communication systems, communication devices) and working with non-verbal clients.
Few things bring me more joy than helping my little kiddies achieve success, but it’s not only just work that brings me joy. I find joy in drinking coffee with friends, watching the stars by a camp fire, late night trips to Kmart (where you’ll find me quite often after work- grabbing a bargain!) and being part of an amazing and supportive church family. I’m excited to meet you and your little one, I hope they enjoy the fun and excitement I always love to bring to sessions.
